Just Magnolia Challenge

Here's a little card I've entered in the hAngler & sTangler or Just Magnolia Challenge for this week. There is a sketch to follow and the card must contain an image from h&s or Magnolia. As most of you already know, these little girls are Tilda's. I have a friend in the UK who says they are "Big girls dollies" isn't that cute?
I have made a few of my favorite paper roses for embellishment on this card and also added a little heart charm. I used my new Spellbinders Heart Circles for the frame she is sitting in and cut the center out with Standard Circles Small. I wanted to pop up Tilda and have DP behind her in her "swing"
I'm so pleased I actually got it done and with a day or two to spare, LOL.
We have card club tomorrow for the last time of this go around. There are six of us girls who rotate houses each month and design the projects we work on and provide a lunch. I think it's lots of fun and such a nice way to keep in touch with everyone. I'm looking forward to the day out and can't wait to see what Janni has cooked up for us! Thanks for stopping in and I hope you enjoy this little card.

Mojo Monday challenge

Hello everyone. I've posted a card that I entered on the Mojo Monday challenge. Something new for me but I thought I'd give it a try. I've struggled all week on this card. and as you can see it's Saturday and there is only one day left for this challenge to be open. Thank God they give you a week or I'd be in big trouble!  I MAY have to rethink challenges maybe? :-)  I figured it would be a great way to get my blog out there as you link back to it when you enter your card, but man oh man, did I ever have a hard time following the "sketch." I would have loved to "gussie" it up as is my fav thing to do, but I didn't want to cover up completely the idea of the sketch which was a circle in a square. I love the lace on the bottom and tried many things in the left corner (flower, charm, etc.) but everything I put there either covered up the lace or it was the wrong color. So to make a long story short, I finally quit messing with it an posted. Thanks for stopping by and putting up with my OCD, :-)
So here what I used to make this card.
Stamp: Lili of the Valley Fairy & Whimsy Stamps treasured Moments Tickets

Thomas

Hello everyone, happy Tuesday. The weather here today is going to be GORGEOUS! between 65-70 degrees, which makes me a very happy woman!
I'm posting a card today with another sweet image from Sugar Nellie digital stamps. I've left you the link where I get them. This little boy is just the sweetest ever, isn't he? This is the second of this card I've made. The first one involved some finger pricking with my craft tweezers, a lot of blood, yelling, and well you get the picture, right? Made this replacement last night and thought I'd better get it posted before the beautiful weather outside calls out my name, :-)
I'm including a close-up of the image. I must tell you before I post the supplies I used, that I mix up my Copic colors out of necessity. I don't always have the colors in order as the company recommends, and I have to substitute. The basic rule for Copics is three shades in one color group, two to three numbers apart, example, R81, R83, R85, etc. So when you see my colors listed all over the color wheel, you'll now understand why I do it. Have a great day today and thanks for visiting me and my blog!

Supplies used:
Papers: Solid color cardstock from my stash, Provo Craft Cricut tablet, Mat stack from DieCuts with a View.
Ribbon, stickers, and eyelets from my stash
Border punch from Martha Stewart, French Scroll
Copic Markers:

LIPS: E02
CHEEKS: E00

SHIRT: R20, R24, R29
PANTS: B12, B95, B99

Cherish

Saturday, April 9, 2011

Hello everyone. This business of, me being missing, is really getting old. I've been around, just not doing many cards or crafting. After my child watching stint, (can't really call it babysitting as the boys are now 6 & 10) my sister Michelle was here for a week and then I rested for a few days and tried to wrap my mind around the fact that my young neighbor and dear little friend Tony had passed away.
It was such a tragedy. Only 45 years old and he was already called home to be with Jesus. The autopsy could take up to six months for results, and I for one will be heart-broken if they don't find a cause. I know now why the word "closure" is used so often in an untimely death. The service was yesterday the 8th. The girls did right by their brother. It was a lovely service and so, so many friends, co-workers, and relatives where there to send him on  his way. The priest had a wonderful message for all of us about Tony's ability to always give to his friends and community, his very sweet and loving heart and his assured place in the kingdom of God. I was very moved by it. I said goodbye to my friend and will always think of and remember him often.

I do have a card to share with you today. I've had it done for a couple of weeks, but have just had the time to post it. It's another version of one of my "girls" as I like to call them. This is a version of a stamp I already posted, but different colors. Sugar Nellie has a couple new digi stamps that I purchased, yes I said purchased, what ever happened to my resolution to cut back my spending??? Oh right, back on topic, they are two new girls and boy.  I got the little boy and one of the girls. The other girl is a head image only and I so prefer the full body image. I am in the process of coloring them now and I will have a card or two for you in the next week or so. Here's my post for today.
I thought this was appropriate for today as we DO need to cherish every moment.
My recipe for this card is as follows:
Papers: DCWV- Linen closet, Core'dinations, cardstock stash
Stamps: Sugar Nellie digital "Grace", Treasured Moments Tickets from Whimsy Stamps (just learning to link to other sites, yay!)
Nestibilities: Labels Ten, flourishes are cut from my Cricut (Cindy Loo cart)
COPIC MARKERS:
Face & skin: E000, E00, RV11, R20
Hair: E31, E33, E13
Dress & Jacket: E40, E42, BG000, BG11, BG15
Shoes: C00, C1
Ink for stamping: Memento, Tuxedo Black, Rich Cocoa
