Thank You

Hi there blogger friends. Thought I had better post something so you all wouldn't think I fell off the planet. I really didn't :-)
I've had a few obligations to fill, a class coming up in Eau Claire to get ready for, some card orders, a corsage to make and  cake to bake for a baby shower, close the Park, yuk! and trying to get some needed outside work done to try and get winterized. Here in Wisconsin winter ALWAYS gets here before we are ready for it. Ahhhhhh, such is the life in the mid-west. Oh, I wanted to tell you all that I have decided to decline the invitation to stay on the FSS DT for this term. I have so many things going on that I didn't feel I could give the time to the DT that it deserves. Tracey has so graciously offered to allow me to return when I'm ready & I am  very grateful for the opportunity to do so. Thanks Tracey!
Anyway lets get down to the business of my post. I have used a Saturated Canary digital design called "Thank You" and I think she is so precious. I believe this would be a great image for Copic beginners. Not too many colors to get overwhelmed with and really simple, but darling, hair style. I wish saturated Canary would get on the stick and get some more rubber images out there. I guess I didn't realize how many people don't use digital stamps until I started to teach Copic coloring. I always feel like a traitor when I use them now because Leann at Picture This is so good to me and online business always hurts the small business owners. When you are 12 miles from a loaf of bread, as I like to say, I use the Internet as a way to keep up on new things and of course feed my stamp addiction! What can I say folks, I'm in deep!
For my papers, I once again have dug into my scrap pile. I used Spellbinders Scalloped Ovals, Floral Ovals around my image and Venetian Motifs for the little corner embellishment, cut huh? The little heart under the sentiment is from Cheery Lynn called Heart to Heart Lace Doily. The flowers are hand made from the Spellbinder Donna Salazar design called Bitty Blossoms. Oh how I love that die! the tiny little fill flowers are made from a little punch I bought at Picture This my last trip into Eau Claire.

The Copic colors I used are: (I CAS these from another blog I follow, bad me!)
Skin- E01, 00, 000
Cheeks & lips- R20, E000 & RV11, Rv34
Hair- E44, 43, 42, 41
Dress, socks, bow & eyes- V99, 95, 91, V01, 000, 0000
Apron & shoes- E42, 41, 40, W00
Shadow around image- E50
Floor under image- W3, W1
That's about it for me today. Thanks so much for stopping by & please come again.
Hugs,
Maureen

Emma The Caroling Angel

Here's a card I have finished for FSS Designs. She is called
Emma the caroling Angel and you can find her at this link. This image is so versatile as she comes with birds or not, a Halo, or not, and well too many other ways to print this little honey, soooooo go and check her out!! I wanted to keep this card monochromatic, which I have a tendency to do on Christmas cards, if I haven't used the traditional red & green, which is always a favorite for me.
The papers I used on this card are from a 6X6 pad I bought last year called Christmas Joy from First Edition. This pad is non-traditional colors of aqua, muted pinkish red, and shades or orange, half plain and half glittered, oooh yummy! It's so beautiful I hate to cut it up, I mean how sick is that? LOL
The border on top is MS Snowflake PAP decked out with rhinestones of course :-) and a little silver cord from my garage sale hauntings. The flourish is Holly from Cheery Lynn and the Poinsettia I made from Spellbinders Layered Poinsettia. The tiny little flowers are a Punch-a-Bunch I bought quite some time ago & can't remember if it has a name, sorry. All the flowers are sponged with a little Stampin Up Sage Shadow ink pad. It may be discontinued, I've had it for some time now. Centers of flowers are tiny silver beads, a gift from a friend, thanks J. Emma has some Liquid Applique' on her dress pizazzed up with some Frosted Lace Stickles, and her wings have Stardust Stickles.

Here are the Copic colors I used on Emma:
Birds- C1, 00
Skin- E02, 01, 00
Cheeks- R20, blended with E00
Hair- E25, 23, 21
Dress- G00, 000, 0000
Thats all for today bloggers, hope you enjoyed my little project. And don't forget to stop back on Friday for the FSS Blog Hop!!!
Hugs,
Maureen

Halloween Rosie

Hello bloggers. Here's a FSS digi called Halloween Rosie, isn't she just the cutest evah!!!!
I believe this is Tracey & family's doggie, but I colored her a bit differently than the pre-colored image. I used Spellbinders Deckled Rectangles to cut her out but used the "Out of the box" technique, which is why her broom is over the edge a little. I kinda like it!
I used a fence die I have from Whimsy Stamps & cut off the bird & birdhouse that sit on it, stamped some little pumpkins I had & fussy cut them out & popped them up for dimension. The drippy goo & bats are MS punches, sentiment is computer generated, & the ribbon and rhinestones are from my stash. I colored the ribbon with Copics to deepen the purple as it was too light.

Here's the Copics I used to color little Rosie:
Black fur- C10, 5, 3
White fur- C1, 00
Hat- YR07, 04, 02
Hat band- BV02, 01, 00
Broom handle- E47, 44
Broom straw- Y26, 21
Floor under Rosie- E53, 51

Hope you enjoyed this little card & don't forget we are having another Blog Hop on Friday the 28th.  Hope you can join us for some wonderful inspiration & great prizes. FSS Designs has some new images to be released on that day so I hope you can come. I got a sneak peek of course & I'm here to tell ya, they're terrific!!
Hugs,
Maureen

Sharing a biscuit

Hello bloggers! Here's my first Christmas card of the year. I just hate to think how fast it will get here. Seems I'm never completely ready for the Holiday season and poof, it's over, yikes!
Anyway my little card is done with a new Image I picked up at Creative Hideaway. I believe these images are the same artist that draws for Lily of the Valley, which we don't have retail outlets here in the US. What a welcome surprise to see them at Carol's. For my local friends, she is almost sold out but said she will have more in stock before the holidays.
This image is from Dawn's Stamps called Sharing a biscuit and there are three more images in this line for sure, maybe more. I also purchased a calf on ice skates which I will post soon. My inspiration for the colors on this card is the little star banner I picked up at an outlet store in Medford. I found some paper in my scrap bin that went with the colors perfectly, out came the "Magic" of Copics and soon I was thinking snowflakes!
I used Spellbinders Labels Twenty-Two and Create-a-Flake Three and a sweet little die from Marianne Designs, LR0116. The ticket stamp is from Whimsy Stamps. The ribbon, Viva Decor liquid pearls, glitter, liquid applique', are all from my stash.

Copics used for this image:
Face & arm- E00, 000, 000
Cheeks- R20, E000
Hair- forgot to write it down, maybe E33, 31
Lavender- V15, 01, 000
Pink- R83, 81, RV000
Green- G000, BG000
Squirrel- C5, 1, 00
Pine branch- YG95, 91

Hope you enjoyed this post today everyone & thanks for stopping by.
Hugs,
Maureen

Sunflowers & Thankfulness

Here's another sunflower card I colored from Fred She Said Designs. It's called Sunflowers & Thankfulness.
I've said this before, but Sunflowers are really one of my favorites. They are so cheery with  happy faces shining at me! I colored these with my Copic markers, of course, and how fun they are to color too! When I colored my pumpkins & sunflower project for the FSS blog hop my Y13 copic was empty, so I had to substitute and use Y21, but as you can see the brighter yellow just makes the flowers pop!
One of the other girls on my design team did this same card this week with the pre-colored image from the same set and I swear great minds must think alike, as our layout is almost identical, LOL.
I fussy cut the image of a single flower and added to to the top of the frame, which is pre-printed with the verse, and added a new die I just purchased from Picture This in Eau Claire. It's a Poppystamps die called Tilda Swirl, love, love, love this die! Papers are from my stash. I've been trying to dig in my scraps to use some of the stuff up, wow do I have a long way to go.
The Copics I used to color this image were:
Petals- YR24, Y17, Y13
Centers- E79, 57, 25
Leaves- YG97, 95, 91
Thanks for stopping by, hope you enjoyed this post and come again!
Hugs,
Maureen

I have done an easel card for my project using the FSS image called Pumpkins and Sunflowers. This happens to be an image I had purchased quite some time ago, before I became a DT member for FSS, but it still is one of my favorites. I actually did a card club class with this image and I went back and looked at my card and boy have I come a long way with my Copics, both in technique and product.  I believe I had 12 markers at the time and I now am somewhere near the 150 mark. Oh Lordy, I'm addicted!! I have sunflower decor in my dining room off my kitchen and they make me so happy and I thought for today they just might make you happy too! We are having a bit of a heatwave here in Wisconsin, so I wanted to think of Fall & cooler weather so this image just did the trick!
I cut my card base with the Spellbinder Labels Ten to create my easel. I felt the need to gussy it up of course with some handmade paper flowers, leaves, ribbon, rhinestones, glitter........well you know the drill when it comes to my cards!

The Copic colors I used for my card today are:
Leaves & stems- YG97, 95, 91
Sunflower petals- YR24, Y17, Y11
Sunflower centers- E79, 57

Thank You Card

Here's a card simply made, for me anyway. I love turquoise and black together and I just had to give it a try with this new stamp! It's called Butterfly Flourish from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. I cut it out and matted it with Spellbinders Labels Ten. When I bought that crazy thing a couple of years ago I thought I'd never use it and I seem to use it more than any of the others I have. Isn't that crazy?  So many of the designs on today's stamp market are larger than they used to be I think, and many of the regular Spellbinder won't work with them. You have to buy the Mega Dies and I'm not going there! I also used a Memory Box die called Elegant Scrollwork, so pretty & cuts beautifully. The little Thank you sentiment came with the set and I use a Spellbinders Classic Ovals Lg. to cut it out. Papers, rhinestones, glitter, ribbon are from my stash. The rhinestones were a little big but it's all I had to match the colors I wanted.
I have used some Copic colors that are totally out of the norm for what the Copic company recommends, but I have found you can experiment and come up with some totally awesome combinations.
Copics I used are:
Butterfly wings- B05, BG23, YG06, YG01
Little "eyes" on wings- B05, B00
Stems & flourishes-YG95, 93, 91
Tiny blossoms at end of branches- Y17, 11

I added a little Glossy Accents to make by butterflies really pop!
That's all for me today everyone and thanks so much for stopping by.
Hugs,
Maureen

Bugs & Kisses

Hello bloggers. Here's the card I mentioned in my last post using the PRE-COLORED image from the Daisies and Ladybugs set over at Fred She Said. The beautiful thing about Tracey's designs is you can use the pre-colored digi's or color them yourself if you choose. There are Very few companies that offer this option. And you'll never get a badly colored image from this wonderful store!
I, once again, used the digital paper from the previous post and this time used a piece of the co-ordinating paper as the main background. I used my MS Floral Vine punch for the border on the top. And then of course, with my "more is better" attitude I had to gussy it up with glitter, Viva Decor liquid pearl and  ended up not liking it awfully much. But be that as it may it was already glued to my card front, soooooo it is what it is. I fussy cut out the daisies and added a couple of flourishes and added a computer generated sentiment. Oh and I almost forgot. I added Glossy Accents to my little bugs, super cute!
That's all for me today girls, but keep an eye open for the FSS Blog hop on the 31st of this month.
It's Designers choice, so I'm sure the girls on my team will be making some fantastic eye candy for you all!
Thanks so much for stopping by today & be sure to stop in again.
Hugs,
Maureen

Daisies and Ladybugs

Here's a card I made with one of Tracey's new images over at Fred She Said, called Daisies and Ladybugs.
This image I colored myself, but I am working on another card with one of the pre-colored images offered in this set. VERY COOL!!!
I used some digital papers I have had for quite some time. I believe they may have been a freebie from
Sherry K Designs.
I colored my image and then cut it out with Spellbinders Floral Ovals, added some Tropical Flourishes by Cheery Lynn, ribbon, lace and hello stamp are from my stash. I fussy cut and popped up a few of the little Ladybugs here and there to add interest.
Copics used to color this image:
Stem- YG63, 61, G20
Daisy center- YR24, Y17, 21
Daisy petals- C3, C1
Ladybug wings- R29, 27, 32
Body- 100, C7, C5
That's all for today girls. Thanks for stopping by and taking a look.
Hugs,
Maureen

Emma, again!

Here's another version of FSS's "Emma & her cool cap" that I posted last month. This one is a bit more feminine with all the pinks & lavender.
I used Spellbinders Labels Fourteen to cut my image and the two smallest Eyelet Squares cut in half to make the embellishments underneath. The Dragonfly, D152,  is from Cheery Lynn and a few of the leaves, B178, underneath the flowers as well. The flowers, ribbon, rhinestone flowers, and scraps of paper are from my stash. The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps called Aged to Perfection Notables 3 and I used the matching die to cut it out.

The Copic colors I used for this little honey are:
Skin- E01, 00, 000
Cheeks- R20
Hair- E35, 53, 51
Cap & pants- V28, 17, 15
Band on cap- E43, 42, 40
Dress & shoes- R85, 81, RV000
Touch of W00 on white parts
W3 & colorless blender for shadow around image.
Hope you've enjoyed my post today and be sure to go on over to Fred She Said's store, (link above) and see all the beautiful digital stamps she has created.
Thank you so much for stopping by and come again !

Maureen

Can't wait to see you!

Here's a card I did with an old Stampavie image. To tell you the truth I''m not sure what the name is because I received it from a friend across the pond. I did try to research it and came up empty handed.
So for today's post you'll just have to look at pretty colors. :-)
I used some beautiful K&Company Julianne paper, one of my favorites, some solid CS from my stash, oh and I'm not sure if I told you this, but most of my card bases are from Michael's. I buy packs of 50 card base & envelopes for right around $5.00. Makes them 10 cents for each set and they come in white and ivory. They are 5X6 1/2 and the envelope is 5X7 so the added room in the envelope makes them great to accommodate embellishments, which I LOVE to add to my cards. I cut my image on the paper cutter & then cropped the upper corners to match the design of the brick arch (who knows if it really brick, just the way I saw it) LOL.
I used a Magnolia Doohickey die for the flower called BV10 Doily Flowers, & a Cheery Lynn called B170 Mini Flourish One which is a new purchase from Picture This for the pretty swirls at the top & under the flower. The sentiment is computer generated & cut with Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Ovals, ribbon, twine, brad, rhinestones from my stash & the cute button is from the $1.00 craft bin at Walmart!

Here's the Copics I used to color this image:
Skin- E02. 01, 00
Cheeks- R20
Bags- E44, 43, 42
Dress- R59, 85, 83, 81
Apron & band on cap- B93, 91, C1, 00
Shoes- W5, 3, 00, C7 for soles
Cat- C5, 1, 00
Flowers- RV34, 000
Leaves- YG63, G20
Bricks- E35, 30
Floor- E50, 53
That's all for today everyone & I again want to thank you for stopping by to see my work. I love to share it with you all.
Hugs,
Maureen

Hop ends Friday, August 3, midnight EST.
I have two cards to share with you today and I must apologize right away for the photo of my first card.
was finishing it at the last minute and took the picture at night and it shows! PSS, I've gone back this morning and took a new photo, in the daylight! I've replaced the old dreary nighttime one, Yey! One of these days I just might figure out how to use a camera! :-)
The close up is a bit better. The other card is sort of whimsical and I had done it first a couple of week ago & took the picture in the daylight hours so it is much better.
The FSS store has added tons of lovely new images in the past couple of months ad you should check it out.
My goodness that Tracey is just sketching her fingers to the bone I tell ya!
I've used two different images today. The one with the tiny Blue birds is Emma the caroling Angel, which also includes these sweet little birdies. The flowers on that card are from a 2008 set of Foldy Flowers I had in my stash of goodies. The larger Bluebird card is made actually from a Christmas image called
Pair of Robins They are actually English Robins, but I used the un-colored stamp and made them into blue birds. Covered up the Pine boughs with a little acrylic paint, Fussy cut Hellebore's  or Lenten Roses, and presto, Bluebirds!
The Copics I used to color my images are as follows:
Bluebirds,
Beak-C5
Wing lines- 100 (black)
Blues- B18, 12, 21, 95, & a touch of B97
Foldy Flowers- V19, 04, 01 - R85, 83, 81, 59- Y17, 13, 000, YR02- BG15, 11, 111
Branch- E57, 53, 51, 23
Hellebore's -R35, 32, 30
Leaves- YG67, 63, 61, G20
I wish the picture showed the true colors of these flowers. They are Rosy peach, not orange at all!

I have also used a Spellbinder, Pennant die, Cheery Lynn Flourish Leaf strip, MS border punch, Double Loops, and her grass scissors as well. Some papers from my stash, a little sponging of some clouds, and some K&Company Julianne DP. Hope you enjoy the hops today & maybe you'll be the winner of the great prizes!

Hearts and Roses

Here's a card I made from a FSS digital stamp called  Hearts and Roses. The re are several choices in this set, including a heart background for the roses. I chose to use just the spray and I just love it. Tracey is such a talented Artist and her floral pieces just seem to speak to me. :-)
But then the rest of her designs are pretty amazing too! If you love digital stamps as much as I do make absolutely sure you check out her store.
The pretty Neopolitanesk paper I used on this card is from October Afternoon. Love that pink and brown combo! Rose stamp is FSS of course, and I colored it with Copics and then fussy cut it out and popped it up with foam squares for dimention. The sentiment is from an Inky Antics set called Guided Path stamped in dark pink and embossed with clear embossing powder. Shading around verse is done by sponging on a littleVersa Magic chalk ink called Pixie Dust. The dies I used are, Spellbinders Labels Eighteen, Cheery Lynn Lace Corner Deco E, & the flourish is Die-namics Fancy Flourish. The ribbon, rhinestones,  Diamond Stickles and bling are from my stash.

Copics I used on this rose are,
R85, 83, 81 & RV000
YG 67, 63, 61 and a touch of G20
That's all for today girls, but don't forget Friday the 27th is the FSS "Winged Things" Blog hop and there are some great prizes and tons of eye candy for inspiration from the Design Team. So make sure you check back in on Friday!
Thanks for stopping by today and come back soon.

Carnation, Thoughts of you

Here's a card I did with a Fred She Said image called Carnation with sentiments There are four different sentiments with this set so it is very versatile. I colored two other carnations from this set, but didn't get cards made with them yet. I'm still moving at a snails pace since my surgery & now all the Lublin Days planning is in full swing, so i have about two spare minutes each day to play. :-)
When I colored this image, I started out to try & get a Peppermint carnation and just couldn't get it right. It looked so funny without any shading so I ended up filling in the white areas with some double & triple ott reds. Not exactly what I was going for, but it is what it is. My neighbor thought it was pretty, so I guess that is all that counts. I, for one am still debating and not so sure I would try this color again. The other two I colored are just beautiful I think. Here's a picture of the other two, and maybe, just maybe, I'll get to make cards with them in the near future.
Excuse the photo, I was in a hurry & I'm a tad shaky, but you can get the jist of it anyway.
On my card here's are the elements I used to put it together.
Stamp- FSS, Carnation plus sentiments
Paper- DP is a DCWV matstack called "Mariposa" LOVE this paper! Plain CS is from my stash
Dies- Spellbinders, Scalloped Ovals, Fancy Tags Two- CC Designs Butterflies- Memory Box Elegant Scrollwork- Cheery Lynn Lace Corner Deco E
Ribbon, Stickpin, Candi, & Viva Decor Liquid Pearls are all from my stash.
Copics used for Carnation,
R24, 00, 000
YG63, 61 & G20
W1 for shadow
Thanks for stopping by today girls & come again!
Hugs,
Maureen

Daisy Cupcake

Hello blog friends. I am finally feeling like I have begun to re-join the living. Lordy surgery can take a toll when you're, ah hmm, (clearing throat) "older" :-)
This post will be short as I had my right shoulder rotator cuff repaired and I'm right handed, so needless to say it's a tad bit awkward, to say the least, to type.
This is another one of FSS Designs called Daisy Cupcake. It's so summery to me, I just love it. When I started to color this image I was thinking Birthday & I guess it ended up sort of, How are you?, Whatcha doin', Thinking of you, etc. And Birthday, well, not so much.

I'm just going to list the few Copic markers I used for this card today, & if you have any questions about any of the other elements in my card, please email me at my address listed at the bottom of my blog. I will try to answer them individually ASAP.
Cupcake- "Cake" E79, 47, 44
Frosting- E000, 0000
Daisy petals- Shaded a little with W00
Daisy center- Y26, 21, 11
Leaves- YG67, 63, 61, G20 (most of the time these are my "go to" greens)
That's about it for me today everyone, thanks for stopping by. I really appreciate the visits and the lovely comments.
Hugs, Maureen

Emma with her Cool Cap

Here's a card I did of Emma, one of Fred She Said's new designs of her daughter, Isn't she a cutie pie?
I chose this color scheme because I have a pair of Crocs in this lime green color & they are my fav! They are so old and grubby from wearing the for planting, lawn mowing or any other yukky project, but my feet love them! Emma's little pinafore is colored with my Copics, of course, and then I took my Colorless Blender to make some cute Polka Dots on it. I wanted this card to have a Birthday theme so I added the balloons and the cute little birthday tag (tiny presents if you look close) LOL.
I am having shoulder surgery on my right arm Friday, and of course I am right handed. I have a few cards done ahead for my work on the FSS Design Team, so I think I'm good to go. I had better be, I'm thinkin'!
Here's a close-up of Emma, and I see my watermark is NOT showing up. Lord have mercy on me! I have bee working on trying to get this right for a week & no success yet. I have Picasa for photo editing & I can get it on there (so pretty with Edwardian script) and then when I move them to my blog, presto, chango, GONE! Why oh why am I so techo challenged? LOL

Here's the recipe for this card
Stamps- Emma in her Cool Cap from FSS, Everyday Circle Postmarks from Whimsy
Paper- DP from K&Company, solids from my stash
Flowers, brads, etc.-From my massive collection :-)

Stockings or Mzz. Hollywood

Here's a little something I colored from Saturated Canary. I believe she is called Stockings, but I think she resembles Hollywood myself!  I do love these girls, but then I guess I have very eclectic taste because I love many of the wonderful artists that are out there today. Flowers, Fairies, birds, animals, characters, scenery, Christmas, oh well lets face it I just love to color!
I have several cards done for FSS but I hope to mix them up with some other things as well as the month progresses. I believe we will be having a blog hop the end of the month, so keep your eyes peeled for that. Where in the heck did that come from anyway? Peel your eyes? Ewwwwh, the thought of it is sort of overwhelming, LOL. Enough of this silliness and one to my project.
Here's the elements I used for this card
Paper: DP from an old matstack called LeCreme', solid color cardstock from my stash
Stamps: Saturated Canary Digital Stockings, Whimsy Stamps Everyday Circle Postmarks
Die: Cheery Lynn Lacey Corners Deco E
Ribbon, flower, rhinestones from my stash
Copics Used:
Hair- E79, 57, 43, 40
Skin- E01, 00, 000
Lips & Cheeks- R20, 29
Dress- R29, 27, 24, 22
Gloves- 100, C7, C5
Fishnet drawn on stockings with Micron pen in black & some shading with C5, 3, 1
Hope you enjoyed this card & thanks so much for stopping by.
