Prickley Pear DT Announcement

Hello Bloggers, I have a HUGE announcement to make on this April Fool's Day. But..... I'm not foolin'!

I have been asked to join the Prickley Pear Rubber Stamp Company Design Team! YAY!! I can't wait to get started working with all the lovely girls on the team.
We go live on April 7th and we'll be having a Blog Hop April 15th, 16th, & 17th. Make sure to stop in and check out all the Teams pretties and leave them a comment. We all love that, don't you know!
Prickley Pear has a line of clear stamp sets with matching dies (so cool), foundation dies, as well as rubber stamps. They have a terrific online store and sell in retail shops as well. We will be show casing some of the new releases on the Blog Hop, so make sure to check it out.

I've been busy creating things for my Blog with Prickley Pear products and I can't wait to share them with you. This company is very good about showcasing their designers work through posting on the company website header and card samples listed under the stamps & stamp sets. I love this about them. You get a chance to set the products in the finished state which is awesome!

Here's a sneak peek of some of the things to come, what a tease, huh?
Want to know what's behind all that shadow? Well  check back here on the 7th, and don't miss the hop, where myself , the design team, and Prickley Pear will share our pretties with you!

Thanks for stopping in today & reading my HUGE announcement, and I hope to see you back here real soon.
Hugs, Maureen

Sister Act Challenge DT appointment

Hello everyone. I have an announcement to make.
I have been selected to serve on the Sister Act Challenge(click on this link to go there) Blog Design team! Yay! I'm excited to work with these wonderful girls and am looking forward to seeing the DT's projects each week. There are sponsor's each week & some fabulous prizes, so come on in & join the fun! And the best part is, are you ready? It's "Anything Goes" each week. How awesome is that?
This is my first post for them & I hope you enjoy it. It's a card I made for my friend Jean's birthday which was this week.
This is a stamp from Sherri Baldy from her "My Besties" Etsy store.
The cardstock is from my stash. The Japanese sentiment I generated from the internet & it is supposed to say "Happy Birthday" but how would I ever know if it isn't?
The little flowers were made from  a Magnolia Doohicky die and the centers from a misc. punch I have in my stash as well. Instead of leaves I used a Sizzix Tim Holtz Flourish die & chopped it up to look like branches. The corners & dragonfly are Cheery Lynn & the frills around the image are a Marianne die which I cut twice & then cut them in half to fit each side of my image. Oh I believe I see a MS Pansy punch around the page in there also. Yikes, the stuff I come up with!
Here's a close up my little Geisha & the Copics I used are listed below.

Skin- E000, 0000, W3
Cheeks- R30, E0000
Lips- R32, CB
Eyes- E37, 35

Flowers on Kimono- R32, 00
Fan, waist wrap, skirt- R32, 30, 00, W3

Heartfelt Creations Roses

Hello again bloggers. I have a card to share today that is out of the box for me, sort of. I didn't do a Copic colored image on it. Can you believe it? this is my version of clean & simple. if you know anything about my cards, believe me, this is as CAS as I can get!
I had stumbled on the Heartfelt Creations web site a while back & watched a few of Emma Lou Beechy's videos and I was hooked. Oh my, the gorgeous things you can make with these flower  stamps & die sets. I ordered it at Picture This and also a product from 7 Gypsies called Glimmer Glaze that coats the petals & just gives them a slight shimmer. This one is silver & I have now ordered three more colors. Imagine that. :-)  This floral set is the Open Vintage Floret PreCut Set & matching Spellbinder die Vintage Floret. You stamp first giving them the stunning veins on the petals and then cut them out with the dies, mold them a little with a stylus & assemble them into these breathtaking blooms. Making paper flowers is one of my favorite things to do so this was right up my alley. I had started out thinking a black & white card but when I placed the flowers next to the stamped image (an old Thomas Kincaid stamp) I noticed a pale aqua cast, so I improvised my design by adding colored cardstock and a bit of shading with my Copic BG000 & 0000. I distressed my papers with my new Zutter toy, added some ribbon & buttons, and a dash of twinklets on my roses and here is the result. I think it's lovely. Here's a better look at the roses.
I hope you enjoy my card today & thanks so much for stopping by.
Hugs,
Maureen
