Two Owls

Hello friends. Don't fall off your chair, but I posting again!!!! I love, love, love, how this card turned out! This stamp is from Mo's Digital Pencil and when I saw it, a tiny voice just screamed out at me to purchase it. I tried the "Scandinavian" technique on this card as in my previous post and I think the contrast between light & dark is just awesome.
I've used lots of layers on this card, starting with a Kraft background which I distressed with my new Zutter Distrezz-it-All V20. I got this for Christmas, & oh is this little machine great!
Some medallions I made with a MS punch. Spellbinders Labels Eighteen, a Cheery Lynn dragonfly die & mini flourish, Dee's Distinctively stylized floral dies, all purchased at Picture This. Whimsy Stamps picket fence die, and last but not least, my lovely hade made flowers with my Spellbinders Donna Salazar Bitty Blossoms die set. I have used the pants off this set, oh my how I love to make paper flowers!! Oops the ting flowers are punched with some odd little punches I picked up here & there. Here's a close-up of the sweet little hugging Owls, & the Copics I used are listed below.

Copics used:
Wings, tails, around eyes & forehead- E71, 70, W3 & CB
Eyes, beak, feet- E53, 51, 50, W3
Scarf- B34, 32, W3, CB
Moon- E51, 50, W3
Branch- E79, 70, CB
Hope you enjoyed this card & thanks for stopping in.

Birthdays

Hello everyone. I've been missing for a long time now & I have so many reasons they are too lengthy to list. I finally had to go computer shopping and am now learning Windows 8. Not as bad as I thought it would be. This next year will see many changes for me if all goes as planned. My soul searching has given me some answers that I need to put into motion starting this spring. I'll keep you posted as I move forward. I have been working on a few new things with my beloved Copics and have a class coming up on February 8th at Picture This on pleats & folds. Looking forward to it and sharing my little helps & hints. :-)
I'm sharing a card today with a technique I've been working on but have not quite perfected yet but I thought it turned out OK so I'm posting it to give you a little peek.
I MAY have a class on this when I get a little better at it. The idea is to make the Copic coloring look like painting with Distress re-inkers on watercolor paper, or what some are calling "Scandinavian" style coloring. I'm still trying to perfect it, but I seem to not get enough paleness through the center of the colored parts, ahhhhhhh here comes my favorite words..... practice, practice, practice!  Anyway I hope you enjoy the fruits of my labor so far. I have couple more cards to post with different images colored in this same technique in the next few days, so be on the look out.
This image is a digital image from Sherri Baldy's "Besties" line. I actually love digital stamps as they are easily accessible to me way out here in the boonies, and affordable too. I'm not promoting them, so as to take business away from retail stores, I'm just stating what works for me.
I've used a work table full of dies & a punch or two, so if you see something & want to know what it is just email me at the address on the bottom of my page & I'll let you know what it is.
Here's a close-up of the image & the Copics I used will be listed below it.

Copics used:
Skin- E13, 11, 00, W3
Blush- R30, E00
Lips- R20, CB
Eyes- E29, 25
Hair- E23, 31, 41, W3
Fur- W1, 00, 3
Dress- R20, 00, 000, W3
Earrings- R20, W3, R000

Hope you enjoy this card & stop back soon.
Hugs, Maureen

Christening

SHE'S ALIVE!!!! Wow it's been a really long time since I've posted & I may be a bit rusty, but bear with me & I'll get back into the grove of things, no doubt. Funny how illness, life & a ton of other unmentionables get in the way of one's passion.
I some times feel I had loads more time before I retired then I do now. Couldn't possibly have anything to do with slowing down......no siree, never happen, hah!
I'm sharing a card with you today that my friend ordered for her new great-grandaughter's Christening. I just love how sweet it turned out. The image is from Mo's Digital Pencil, super cute.
I used a Cuttlebug folder for the dotted background & figured out a way to cover my entire matting, not easy as this was an A2 folder & I never make that size card. MS Floral vine border punch. A corner die from Cheery Lynn. Spellbinders Crosses Two & labels Twenty Two & Standard Circles Large. The ribbon, charm, & rhinestones are from my stash. The cute little butterflies are from C.C Designs.
Sorry everyone, but I forgot to write down my Copic colors, but I think I used some C00,& C1 for the dress shading, R81, 82 & RV000 for the pinks, E01, 00, 000 for the skin, & the hair, just for the life of me I can't remember! Sorry :-(
Enjoy & thanks for stopping by.
Hugs, Maureen

FSS Pansy Border

I have joined the FSS Design team for another term, and actually am excited to see what goodies Tracey has in store for us. I haven't been posting as I should but my computer has contracted a cough and is only working part time. I hate to even put this out there before I TAKE IT IN TO BE REPAIRED.
But I'll make this a quick one and at least let everyone know I'm not dead. LOL This image is one of my favorites. I Love anything that is pansy. They seem to have such happy little faces. They are a friend of mines favorite flower and every time I get something with a Pansy on it she seems to think I should give it to her! So I am sure this card will be no exception, not a chance :-) And you know who you are too!

The materials for this card are things I had on hand. MS punch, Cherry Lynn die, some stash ribbon, rhinestones, and some paper I had lurking around in my computer just waiting to be used.
Copics I used are as follows.
Centers- YR24, Y21
Bottom petals- C10, B99, B21
Top petals- V04, 01, 0000, 91
Leaves- G16, 12, 000
Hope you like this card & thanks for stopping by. Don't forget to stop in at Fred She Said, and check out the pretty new flowers she has out for spring.
Hugs, Maureen

Parade- Saturated Canary Challenge #36

Hello there bloggers. I have another great digital image from Saturated Canary. Who by the way is one of my favorites. Leann at Picture This now carries all the rubber images from Krista Smith's line that there are, YAY!
I am so desperate for spring to get here I guess this image just screamed it out to me and I had to color her up. I love all the pretty pastels that I mixed together from the challenge at Saturated Canary Blog. I am entering this card in the color challenge at this blog, which by the way is a FIRST for me, what's up with that? I seem to see that most of the blogs I follow are entering challenge after challenge, so I thought I'd give it a try. They are giving away prizes of digital stamps for the top six designs so there is always a chance, right???
The colored paper I used is from my stash of unending cardstock, and the tiny bit of DP is from a 6X6 pad called Isabelle from First Edition. I added a few "Candi" some Bakers twine, a smidgy bow & button, a Sizzix die called Architectural Accents Set, and one of the borders from the Cuttlebug folder set called Just My Type, and wah lah, finito! Which for me is a rarity because I have been bitten by the "more is better" bug. :-)

Here is a list of the Copic colors I used for my image:
Skin- E01, 00, 000
Cheeks- R20, E000
Lips- RV11, 34
Hair- E53, 51, 50
Eyes- B21
Pinafore & pants- R02, 00, 000
Shoes- R00, 000, 02
Sticks- E37
string- E50
Turtle- YG95, 93, 91
Turtle shell- E43, 42, 40, lines w/E44
Bow- R81, RV10, 000
Duck- Y17, 13, 11
Beak & feet- YR04
Boat- B34, 32
Heart- R35
Flag- shade w/ C1
Ground under image- W1, 00
Wow, I'm thinkin' that's a whole lotta colors!
Hope you enjoyed this card & thanks for stopping by.

Silver Fairy for Whimsy Stamps GDT Call

Hello there bloggers. Once again, LIFE has gotten in the way of my blog.
What the heck! Well I'm not going to try and apologize as no matter what excuse I'd have it wouldn't erase the fact that I have been neglectful. So I will move forward from this and try my best to do better.
This post is from Whimsy Stamps called Silver Fairy. She isn't a new stamp but I just love her. Actually this is the first card I've made with this image since I bought it..........well lets just say, some time ago. Have you ever had that happen? Not you? Well OK then, bwaahaahaa. The little sentiment is also from Whimsy and is called Magical Mini Letter Seals.
Now moving on the the reason I drug out this little honey of a stamp by "Wee" stamp company carried by Whimsy. They are having a guest designer design team call, which if chosen, I would showcase a stamp or two for them during the month of March, YAY!!! I would love to do that. So we shall see what happens. Either way I would recommend going the the Whimsy Stamp store and see what wonderful products they have to offer. The January release has just opened and they have lots of new stamps, sentiments and dies. CHECK IT OUT!
This card was put together with papers from my scrap pile. I'm trying so hard to utilize some of it,. My goodness how fast that stuff adds up. And since paper and Copics are my passion, I think I can't go into a craft store without buying paper. So it always appears the scrap pile gets bigger instead of smaller. Hmmmmmmm, one of lifes great mysteries.
The flowers were made to match the Hydrangea flowers in the scrap of designer paper
tucked under the image. The ribbon is from my stash and the cute little charm is also from Whimsy Stamps.
Copics used for this card are:
Skin- E01, 00, 000
Cheeks- R20, E000
Hair- E53, 51, 50
Wings- B21, BV00, B21, B0000
Dress- BV04, 02, 01, 00, 000

Hope you enjoyed this little card and thanks so much for stopping bye.
Hugs, Maureen
