PPRS Monday

It's time for Prickley Pear Monday once again. My card today is sort of Vintage Steampunk, if there is such a thing. :-)

D042 Scalloped Oval Nesting Die, D025 & D035 Steampunk Gears & Mini Gears Dies.
I love these die so much I'd like to put them on everything!
I added some vintage lace, ribbon, brads, Prima Flowers, pearls strip, and some Viva Deco liquid pearl in ivory, and of course I distressed my paper a bit. Just couldn't do without that! The flourish is from Cheery Lynn. I did use a bit of Copics for a touch of color on the floral oval.
that about does it for me today folks, so have a great day and thanks so much for stopping in.
Hugs, Maureen

PPRS Monday

Here' it is bloggers Monday already & Easter came & went in a flash. I am sharing a card I made with my Prickley Pear products today.  It's fast approaching the time when weddings will be coming up & I'm trying to get a head start. The things I'm using today are not necessarily wedding but I think they work well.
I want to thank all of you who joined our Hop last week. and I'll announce the lucky winners before I get started on the description of my card.
Drawn at random:
KT Fit Kitty from Heidi's blog
Sharla's Web from Michelle's blog
Jean Bullock from Angie's blog
Congratulations ladies!
Don't fall out of your chairs, but there is no coloring on this card. Yes you heard me right. Well maybe a little with C1 for some hills around the church. Here's the funny part, I had this card all done & photographed, ready to post & my new dies came in the mail today from Prickley Pear. Well it didn't take me long to dive right into those babies I'll tell ya! So I re-vamped my card a little, took new pictures and presto, new look! I am so in love with this Flourish Die, I want to put it on everything now. I got a couple new Cheery Lynn dies as well. You'll see me use them as additions to my Prickley Pear products in the next few weeks. Did you know CL makes our Prickley Pear dies? Yes indeed. So if you have any CL dies you know how great they are & PPRS dies are the same exact quality. Cut beautifully, no sticking, and pop right out with a slight tap on the table or even the waste can lid. (been there, done that) So take my word for it, PPRS dies are a great investment!
On this card I snipped the flourish in half and tucked it under my ovals and I think it rocks!
I used the D042 Scalloped Oval Nesting Die, & alternated black & white cardstock with the different sizes and stacked them up with pop dots. CLR027A Scalloped Oval 4 Floral Clear Set for my oval, church, and sentiment & then I did a little creative stamping to make a border on the bottom with the CLR015A Blobby Flowers 2 Clear Set. I added a little bling, some glitter, of course, and done. Here's a close up of the oval stack & flourish.

Thanks for stopping by today & letting me share my work with you. Come back soon.
Hugs, Maureen

Prickley Pear Release Blog Hop Day #3

It has finally come....the moment we can reveal the Prickley Pear Spring/Summer 2014 collection!  We are celebrating with a 3 day blog hop event!  Join us each day as our new Design Team showcases the new product!  As always, leave comments on each and every blog post along the way since there will be one winner selected for each day's comments!  We will select our winners on April 20 and they will be announced on April 21 in our Monday inspiration post!

If you have arrived from Tracy's Blog you are right on track, if not, you can find the beginning of the hop HERE.

My card today is made with the beautifully nostalgic '53 Chevy FF0173. This new release stamp is one of my favorites, as I owned one, many, many, many, years ago, enough of the manys already! I'm dating myself, :-)
This stamp also comes in a smaller size which would be great for a tag, or making a border maybe. I'm seeing possibilities for it, galore. Some of the accent stamps & dies I've also used are, D025 & D035, the Steampunk Gears and Mini Gears dies. The Steampunk Gears Clear Set CLR025, & the sentiment is from the Scalloped Oval 4 Clear Set CLR027C. My photography leaves much to be desired & I wish you could see that I popped up my gears & image for dimension. I love to make my cards interesting by doing this, adding the focus to the images used.
I've used some Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze on my gears to give them a metallic look & the papers are from Basic Grey, the 6X6 "Oxford" pad. A MS border punch, some twine, and of course,  distressing with my beloved Zutter Distrezz-it-All. Love that little machine! And that my friends completes my card. Oops I forgot, colored with my Copics, which I'll list below & I've included a close-up of the windows in my car, I added some Tim Holtz Glossy Accents to make them shine!

Copics used:
Blues- B97, 34, 32, 91
White & chrome- C3, 1
Turn signal- YR24, 21
Taillight- R39, 37
Wheel wells- W7, 5
Pavement- W5, 3, 7
Hub caps- B91, 60
Hope you've enjoyed my card for today & don't forget to leave a comment for your chance to become a winner!
Hugs, Maureen

Prickley Pear Release Blog Hop Day #2

It has finally come....the moment we can reveal the Prickley Pear Spring/Summer 2014 collection!  We are celebrating with a 3 day blog hop event!  Join us each day as our new Design Team showcases the new product!  As always, leave comments on each and every blog post along the way since there will be one winner selected for each day's comments!  We will select our winners on April 20 and they will be announced on April 21 in our Monday inspiration post!

If you have arrived from Heidi's Blog you are right on track!  If not, why not skip back to the beginning and start HERE!

My card today is a little old, a great big new & definitely not borrowed or blue!

The "New" image on my card today is Victorian Trike HH0161, one of the 2014 releases, and also comes in a small size. I embossed the Trike on black cardstock with Stampendous Detail Gold embossing powder. I love the look of their gold EP it's awesome, but my photo doesn't do it justice. The other products I used on my card are, Scalloped Oval 4 Floral CLR027C, Steampunk Gears CLR025, Scalloped Oval Nesting Die D042, Steampunk Gears Die D025, &
Mini Gears Die D035. This mini gear die also has the VERY cool corners in it! I die cut them from mirror paper and they really pop on the real card.
The charms, twine, brads & paper are all things I had here in collection. I hope you enjoyed my card for today.
I'm so glad you joined us today for day #2 of our hop, and leave comments for all the lovely ladies, & maybe, just maybe, YOU'LL be the lucky winner!!

Prickley Pear New Release Blog Hop

It has finally come....the moment we can reveal the Prickley Pear Spring/Summer 2014 collection!  We are celebrating with a 3 day blog hop event!  Join us each day as our new Design Team showcases the new product!  As always, leave comments on each and every blog post along the way since there will be one winner selected for each day's comments!  We will select our winners on April 20 and they will be announced on April 21 in our Monday inspiration post!

If you have arrived here from Barb's Blog, you are on the right track.

My card today is made with a new release called Book with Flowers- JJ0010, and the sentiment I used is from a clear set called Mini Vases- CLR047. I LOVE this image, I think it's so elegant. I think it could pass for a Bible, to use for a First Communion, or Conformation or even a simply stated sympathy card. I see many possibilities for this image, don't you?
I've colored my image with Copics, of course, would I use anything else? My DP is from First Edition 6X6 paper pad called Isabelle. The banner is just cut with scissors, curled a bit and glued at the ends. I've distressed the image, as it turned out to look like old leather to me, and I thought it matched. The ribbon, buttons, and Candi are from my stash. I have a close-up for you & Copics are listed below.

Copics used:
Book- E47, 44, 43, 40
Magnolia-E71, 70, 79, CB
Leaves- YG99, 93, 91
Lilies- BG75, 72, 000
Sm. fill flowers- BG15, 11, 000, E42
Shadow- BG70, CB
Under book- E40, 41

Thanks for joining us today on this hop and don't forget, a prize will be drawn from the comments each day of the hop and the winner will be announced on the 21st. Good luck to all of you!
Hugs, Maureen

Hello bloggers. It's that time again, Thursday & the Sister Act challenge. As always it's anything goes. I've chosen to use a Sherri Baldy image, and since my latest obsession is Owls this image certainly fit the bill. I had the little Owl die from Cottage Cutz & wanted to use it so I added it to my card. Isn't it cute? I used a Spellbinder Floral Oval for the image, a Flourish from Memory Box, & a Cheery Lynn corner that I frosted up with some Frantage' embossing powder. The sentiment, flower, & ribbon are from my stash.

Prickley Pear

Hello Bloggers. I am sharing my first post today as a member of the Prickley Pear Rubber Stamp Company Design Team. This whole process is a learning curve for me, but fortunately I am joining a great company, team, & a VERY patient team coordinator. There are a few things I feel I need to tell you all before we get started. I am not making excuses for my self, but I am not used to making what are called A2 cards. The Prickley Pear company desires this size for the majority of advertising & promotional purposes. They are 4 1/4 X 5 1/2 inches and I have made only 5X7 inch cards for years, so please be patient with me until I get some practice in. :-)
I am learning you can't put my usual tons of things on a small card without making it look messy. For me "restraint" is the key word of the day!
I am happy with this first card as I got make up some flowers with the Blobby Flowers 2 Clear Set &
Blobby Flowers Die that matches it. And I do love to make me some paper flowers! I did some coloring with Copics, a little stacking, some snipping here and there, some shaping, a glitter brad, & pow they jump right off the card! The sentiment I used on this card came from this set also.
I have also used the Heart Oval Insert Die, the Scallop Oval Nesting Die, and the butterflies are from the Scalloped Oval 4 Floral Clear Set. The leaves & flourish are from Cheery Lynn. A MS border punch, ribbon, bling, and last but not least a little filigree corner.

Now remember, April 15th, 16th & 17th is our Blog Hop. The Design Team will be showcasing the new releases & there are some great new things coming your way.

Make sure to some back for that, you don't want to miss it!!
Thanks for stopping by today & we'll see you soon.
Hugs, Maureen

Here are the Copics I used and there aren't too many.

Pink- R83, 81, RV000
Bandage- C1, 00

For now that's all folks & thanks for stopping in and come back soon.

Hello Bloggers, I have a HUGE announcement to make on this April Fool's Day. But..... I'm not foolin'!

I have been asked to join the Prickley Pear Rubber Stamp Company Design Team! YAY!! I can't wait to get started working with all the lovely girls on the team.
We go live on April 7th and we'll be having a Blog Hop April 15th, 16th, & 17th. Make sure to stop in and check out all the Teams pretties and leave them a comment. We all love that, don't you know!
Prickley Pear has a line of clear stamp sets with matching dies (so cool), foundation dies, as well as rubber stamps. They have a terrific online store and sell in retail shops as well. We will be show casing some of the new releases on the Blog Hop, so make sure to check it out.

I've been busy creating things for my Blog with Prickley Pear products and I can't wait to share them with you. You get a chance to set the products in the finished state which is awesome!

Here's a sneak peek of some of the things to come, what a tease, huh?
