Prickley Pear Release Blog Hop Day #3

It has finally come....the moment we can reveal the Prickley Pear Spring/Summer 2014 collection!  We are celebrating with a 3 day blog hop event!  Join us each day as our new Design Team showcases the new product!  As always, leave comments on each and every blog post along the way since there will be one winner selected for each day's comments!  We will select our winners on April 20 and they will be announced on April 21 in our Monday inspiration post!

If you have arrived from Tracy's Blog you are right on track, if not, you can find the beginning of the hop HERE.

My card today is made with the beautifully nostalgic '53 Chevy FF0173. This new release stamp is one of my favorites, as I owned one, many, many, many, years ago, enough of the manys already! I'm dating myself, :-)
This stamp also comes in a smaller size which would be great for a tag, or making a border maybe. I'm seeing possibilities for it, galore. Some of the accent stamps & dies I've also used are, D025 & D035, the Steampunk Gears and Mini Gears dies. The Steampunk Gears Clear Set CLR025, & the sentiment is from the Scalloped Oval 4 Clear Set CLR027C. My photography leaves much to be desired & I wish you could see that I popped up my gears & image for dimension. I love to make my cards interesting by doing this, adding the focus to the images used.
I've used some Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze on my gears to give them a metallic look & the papers are from Basic Grey, the 6X6 "Oxford" pad. A MS border punch, some twine, and of course,  distressing with my beloved Zutter Distrezz-it-All. Love that little machine! And that my friends completes my card. Oops I forgot, colored with my Copics, which I'll list below & I've included a close-up of the windows in my car, I added some Tim Holtz Glossy Accents to make them shine!

Copics used:
Blues- B97, 34, 32, 91
White & chrome- C3, 1
Turn signal- YR24, 21
Taillight- R39, 37
Wheel wells- W7, 5
Pavement- W5, 3, 7
Hub caps- B91, 60
Hope you've enjoyed my card for today & don't forget to leave a comment for your chance to become a winner!
Hugs, Maureen

  3. :) Maureen, we are on the same page! I love it when that happens. I have a friend on SCS when we play challenges we end creating very similar cards. I think the paper stack we both used is one of my favorites. It's one of the first pads I ever bought and I just love it for masculine cards. I really like the way you grounded your chevy and your coloring is awesome on the Chevy! Have a great day!

    1. No, it is just designer cardstock in a rust color with some brownish specs on it. I then used an old Martha Stewart border punch that cutes the points & holes. Thanks for asking & I am more than happy to answer.

  18. You did a great job of coloring this car. The plaid paper reminds me of a flannel shirt; a good masculine touch. Excellent man card!
